Step 1: Fill Out Our Adoption Application
The first step in our adoption process is to complete our adoption application. This gives us an understanding of your lifestyle, experience with pets, and the type of dog you’re looking for. This helps us begin the process of matching you with a dog that fits your home and family dynamic.
Step 2: Phone Interview
After we receive your application, we’ll schedule a phone interview. This step is crucial for making sure that the dog you’re interested in is the right fit for your household. We’ll discuss your application in more detail and make sure we know exactly what you’re looking for in a dog and what your experience is with dogs.
Step 3: Meet & Greet
Once the phone interview is complete, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet with the dog you’re interested in. This allows you to spend time with the dog and see how they interact with you and your family members. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know the dog better before making any decisions.
Step 4: Foster-to-Adopt for a Week
We want to make sure the dog you are considering is the right fit for you in real-world settings. We offer a one-week foster-to-adopt trial, where you can bring the dog home and see how they settle in. During this week, you’ll have a chance to evaluate the dog’s personality, behavior, and how well they adapt to your lifestyle. If everything goes smoothly, you’ll be ready to make it official!
Step 5: Adoption Contract
If the foster-to-adopt trial is successful and you’re ready to move forward, the final step is signing our adoption contract. This ensures that you’re committed to providing the dog with a loving and responsible forever home. We’ll walk you through the details of the contract to make sure you’re fully informed about the responsibilities involved.
